September 2019 Shiloh Update

Friends of Shiloh,

From the Shiloh team, we hope everyone had a fruitful and Christ filled summer.

We had a great summer here at Shiloh with over two hundred decisions made for Christ. PRAISE GOD!!! With all of the changes, additional camps and new and returning partnering churches, it’s always important to remember why we do what we do here at Shiloh. That is to win souls for Christ, and make disciples for Him.

Our 2019 summer went very well. We had 471 campers attend our four traditional camps (3-4 Grade Camp, 5-6 Grade Camp, 7-8 Grade Camp, and High School Camp). This is up from our 384 campers we had in 2018. While numbers isn’t our primary focus, it is however exciting to fill the cabins we have and provide an opportunity for more and more children to hear about Jesus. Our 2019 summer theme was Joy from the book of James. Our speakers for each of our camps did an outstanding job connecting with the campers and helping them delve into Scriptures. Additionally, we had a terrific quiz program, personal devotions and cabin devotions designed and implemented by one of our very own interns. It’s so exciting to watch our youth leap out of their chairs in order to answer Bible questions.

In addition to an outstanding and blessed summer program, we were able to end our spring with our first ever Pastoral and Family Retreat. This retreat was geared at those in full time ministry whom the Shiloh staff could bless with a mini conference and getaway. The pastors who attended participated in some great teaching led by Pastor Mark Canady, and enjoyed some great food and time in God’s Word. Being able to send these Pastors and their families back to their churches refreshed was truly a blessing.

Family Camp also went very well this year. Pastor Ed Renk led our chapels and Pastor Brian Gladhart lead our workshops. Both men did an exceptional job preaching the Word of God and we had a full camp for the second year in a row. This camp appears to be filling up quicker and quicker each year, so if you’re interested in attending our 2020 Family Camp, be sure to register as early as possible.

Our remaining 2019 camps include our Timothy Kick-Off and Discipleship Camp. The Timothy Kick-Off will be held from October 26-27 and is for youth between 12-18 (summer 2020 age) who are interested in participating in our year round discipleship program.

Our 2019 Discipleship Camp will be held from November 8-10 and is for junior high – college age campers interested in deepening their faith in Jesus Christ. The campers will participate in Operation Christmas Child, attend chapel led by Pastor Thomas Herringshaw, and participate in daily devotions and a Q & A panel. If you’re interested in either of these camps, registration can be completed on our website. We’ll kickoff the 2020 with our Young Adults Retreat from in January, followed by several of our annual camps/retreats. Registration for these camps can be completed online at shilohbibleconference.com.

We have been making great strides on our new multipurpose center. It’s crazy to think that we were breaking ground in April of 2018. At that time, we did not know where or how we were going to get the funds for this new building. A year and a half later, and we are only $50,000 short of finishing this $350,000 project. To date, we have have poured the concrete, installed the in floor heating, put up the steel frame and sheet metal siding, installed the cinder block base, and purchased the insulation and roofing. If all goes according to plan, we will be able to finish the roofing and electrical this fall. Donations, grants, volunteer labor, and donated material have all played a huge part in us being able to make these tremendous strides towards completing the project. Once completed, the building will be a blessing to Shiloh camp activities, future Donnelly Christian home school co-ops, and community events.

In addition to this new endeavor, we have also begun preparation on additional staff housing and our arts and recreational building. Will you consider donating towards finishing either of these project?

Will you join us in lifting Shiloh up in prayer?

· Please pray for the Shiloh team as we plan for our upcoming and 2020 retreats and camps. With the growing number of campers attending Shiloh, we will be exploring different ways to reach more and more children and families for the Gospel of Christ.

· Please pray for our Timothy Advisors and Timothy Coordinator as they begin to prepare for our year round discipleship program of our Timothy's (youth between 12 and 18 years of age).

· Please pray for our Summer Missionary Coordinator as she and the team begins to prepare for the training and discipleship given to each of our past and future summer missionaries.

· Please pray for our board as they will be meeting to discern the direction that God has planned for HIS camp and HIS ministry here at Shiloh.
